CEWA Chair Neil Guard recognised in King’s Birthday Honours List 2026

Neil Guard, Chair of Community Employers WA, has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) as part of the King’s Birthday 2026 Honours List.

He was recognised for his significant services to community health, for people with disability, and to social welfare.

Representing community services employers

Community Employers WA (CEWA) is representing organisations in the community services sector across Western Australia, supporting members to build a sustainable, skilled and supported workforce.

A career dedicated to community

Since becoming Chair of CEWA in 2016, Neil has led the Board through nearly a decade of change in the community services sector. His leadership draws on a career at the forefront of human services in Western Australia, including as CEO of the WA Health Promotion Foundation (Healthway), Executive Director of the WA Drug and Alcohol Office, Acting WA Mental Health Commissioner, and CEO of Richmond Wellbeing.

As well as chairing the CEWA Board, Neil currently serves as Chair of Community Skills WA and as a Council Member of Disability Assembly WA.

Well-deserved recognition

This honour reflects a career spent improving outcomes for some of Western Australia’s most vulnerable people — and the values Neil continues to bring to his leadership of CEWA.

We congratulate Neil on this well-deserved recognition.
